The following webinar was recorded on July 17, 2024.
Ohio’s upcoming and greatly expanded sales tax holiday, July 30 through August 8, 2024, will apply to every sale of a product that costs less than $500, including business-to-business transactions. This is no longer just a back-to-school sales tax holiday. It applies to any item $500 or less, except for vehicles, watercraft, alcohol, tobacco and marijuana. It does not apply to any services, only tangible items except as noted above.
Is your business prepared? Do you know what you need to do to be compliant with the mandatory sales tax holiday law? It’s a lot more complex than you might think.
In order to assist you with preparation and compliance, the Ohio Council of Retail Merchants is hosting a 75-minute webinar on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 10:00-11:15 am. Presenters will include:
- Tony Ehler, Partner, Tax Counsel, Vorys law firm
- Alexander Fant, Division Counsel, Sales and Use Tax, Ohio Department of Taxation
- Lora Miller, Director of Governmental Affairs & Public Relations, Ohio Council of Retail Merchants
