Beginning today, the Thursday, May 14 Director’s Dine Safe Ohio Order permits on-site indoor dining at restaurants and bars as long as the required social distancing and sanitation guidelines are met. Patio service at restaurants and bars was permitted as of Friday, May 15. As a result of reports that a number of businesses failed to adhere to the required social distancing guidelines over the weekend, the Governor announced on Monday, May 18 that law enforcement and health officials from multiple state departments have teamed up to make sure restaurants and bars are following reopening requirements.

Additionally, Governor DeWine announced the rescission and relaxation of certain requirements of the April 30 Director’s Stay Safe Ohio Order , which is reflected in a new Stay Safe Partial Rescission Order . Requirements regarding business operations, social distancing and prohibition of large gatherings remain in effect. The stay at home requirement and travel restrictions for Ohioans were rescinded as well as mandatory quarantine for out-of-state visitors. A new section has been added prohibiting anyone from entering the state who has tested positive for COVID-19, is presumed to be positive or is exhibiting symptoms.
