Ohio Council of Retail Merchants Launches
Job Portal Expanding Pathways to Success
for Retail and Wholesale Careers
As retail and wholesale businesses search for workers,
this new platform provides employers with direct access to certified job candidates.
COLUMBUS, OH – September 16, 2024 – The Ohio Council of Retail Merchants (Council) announced the creation of a new web app to connect more than 150,000 retail and wholesale establishments in Ohio with credentialed job seekers, accelerating and streamlining the hiring process.
Through the Capango Inc. platform, employers will gain direct access to industry-focused candidates from the more than 900 Ohio schools that provide initial industry training through the NRF Foundation’s RISE Up training and credentialing program.
With the launch, entry-level job seekers who have completed RISE Up certifications can now use the Capango mobile app to search for jobs and add their certifications to their profile. With a social feel app designed specifically for the needs of the retail industry, workers can go from downloading the app to searching for job openings in minutes. Unique in the program is automated resume creation and integrated chat and video chat capabilities, simplifying the hiring process and reducing the time to find work.

The new job platform, powered by Capango, was built to allow job seekers to quickly find local retail and wholesale job opportunities in a simple, mobile-friendly app. The seeker answers a few questions and is presented with a matched list of employers. They can then swipe right to match and apply to work.
